Training center alignment information

Training Center Alignment, this webpage is targeted towards New Instructor Candidates or for Instructoring transferring to our Training Center. The American Heart Association (AHA) requires Instructors to be aligned with a Training Center, like DVA Ambulance. Please read through the following information and sections below for a list of procedures regarding alignment and Instructor Status.

Alignment information

Alignment Scernario

  1. New Instructor Status: BLS Instructor Program
    1. Must have current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification
    2. Must have current Medical License (EMS, RN, Dr, MA) or AHA First Aid certification
    3. Enroll in the appropriate Instructor course
    4. Download and complete Instructor Application
    5. Submit Application and Certifications (copies) to Training Center
  2. New Instructor Status: Heartsaver Instructor or Evaluator Programs
    1. Must have current AHA Heartsaver First Aid with CPR certification
    2. Enroll in appropriate Instructor/Evalutor course
    3. Download and complete Instructor Application
    4. Submit Application and Certifications (copies) to Training Center
  3. Established Instructor Seeking Alignment (transfer) with Training Center
    1. Download and complete Instructor Application
    2. Submit Application and Certifications (copies) to Training Center
  4. Current Instructor for the American Red Cross
    1. Must have current provider certifications
    2. Must have taught at least one course as an ARC Instructor, documented.
    3. Download and complete Instructor Application
    4. Submit Application and Certifications (copies) to Training Center
    5. Course Monitoring will be required before alignment is granted
    6. Complete the Training Center's Alignment Orientation (scheduled by the TC Coordinator)
    7. Final determination will be issued by the TC Coordinator
